You have a swanky new website designed, planned and ready to be built onto your new Content Management System. The functional requirements are waiting to be put into action and you're ready to consign your current ramshackle CMS to the scrapheap. But although the current website is old and tired it does have a solid foundation of useful content…
So have you considered how that content is to be migrated? Is there a plan for transferring the content from the old to the new content management system? I mean content migration “it’s just putting the text back in… right?”
WRONG!

We have just completed an exciting project for the Scottish Youth Hostel Association. Their website which used to run on Alterian CMC (formerly Immediacy), now is powered by Umbraco!
This was an absolutely perfect candidate for an Umbraco website migration. Other than being a great CMS for Immediacy customers to migrate too, the project gave us the opportunity to use some of the great add-ons from the Umbraco Community. Here is just a few that really made the job much easier for us.

If Auros were Santa Claus our children would be well happy this year. We are delivering a host of goodies to our customers this Christmas, and one which is top of the pile is a solid and proven strategy for migrating content from Alterian CMC (formerly Immediacy) to our favourite flavour of enterprise CMS – EPiServer.
What will I get this year?
Feel the need to migrate? So many upgrades are needed as CMC creaks and crumbles and the upgrade paths are more wide spread than ever before. It’s our job to improve the process and reduce the pain and worry. Can we do that? We think so, and we have with Virgin Media Business.
