Business Analyst

Job Purpose

An excellent opportunity for a graduate to join a friendly, dynamic and rapidly growing team that develops and delivers web-based software for large, mainly corporate, clients.  We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our project delivery team in a business analyst role.  You will be responsible for analysing and developing User Requirements documentation along with coordinating software test activities.  Training will be provided both internally and to achieve ISEB qualification.

Role: Business Analyst
Reporting to: Auros Head of Professional Services
Salary: £18-22k, plus discretionary performance related element
Base location: Bristol
Travel: Yes, mainly UK

Key Responsibilities to include

  • Attending client meetings and analysing business needs in order to develop User Requirements documentation

  • Using existing problem-solving skills to suggest developmental solutions and obtaining client buy-in to ideas

  • Developing test criteria from the user requirements

  • Testing using various methodologies

  • Working with developers to minimise development and testing cycle times

  • Supporting User Acceptance Testing

Must also have or be able to rapidly develop the following skills

  • Fluent English language skills
  • Good communication skills (both written and oral) and confident to interface directly with clients
  • Systematic approach to tasks, methodical with excellent attention to detail
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, self-reliant
  • Fully conversant in Microsoft Office tools
  • Understand the principles of the Software Development Lifecycle and at least have a basic knowledge of software programming principles 

Nice to have

  • A degree in an IT related subject

  • Working knowledge of databases and SQL

  • Have ability to compose and run simple SQL queries

  • Any understanding or experience with Quality Assurance (QA) issues within a software development environment

  • .Net experience

  • Experience of Content Management Systems (CMS) from either an end user or technical perspective
