Challenge Auros
For 2007,
the Auros team decided to rise to the Three Peaks
Challenge, raising money for CARE International
(www.careinternational.org.uk).
The three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales were climbed
in just over 28 hours, and a total of £6,988 raised.
The event started on the afternoon of Saturday the 9th of June
at the foot of Ben Nevis in Scotland, moving overnight to Scafell
Pike in the Lake District, and then finally on to Snowdon in North
Wales.
The Auros team included 5 walkers and 4 support crew
(drivers, medics, cooks, priests etc) to help them during the
challenge. Team Auros battled extreme heat and fatigue, but
successfully completed the Challenge shortly after sunset on Sunday
evening.
You can still sponsor Team Auros, and in doing so
help CARE International to fight poverty, so please give generously
by clicking the 'Donate Now' button on the right, or go directly to
justgiving.com/teamauros.
All donations gratefully accepted.
Our thanks to everybody who supported Team Auros with
generous donations and particular thanks to Sytner Mercedes-Benz of
Bristol, the official team sponsor, for the loan of two
top-of-the-range Mercedes ML and GL class vehicles to
help us with our challenge.
