Multi-site, multi-lingual digital roll-out for world's leading insulation firm

Project goals

• A Content Management System upgrade - with the Alterian CMC Content Management System nearing its end of life, Knauf needed a replacement platform.

• Migrate all content - programmatically migrate all pages resolves links to pagesand including all assets and links to these assets.

• To meet budget constraints -  a solution that would save money short and long term.

• Multi-lingual sites - UK, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Australia and New Zealand.

• Freshen up - the site needed a fresh look and feel, with better User Experience (UX).

• Mobile and Tablets - the site needed to embrace all modern device platforms.

How we did it

• Umbraco hits the mark - using Umbraco and its rich suite of open source plugins, some of which were home grown, we were able to provide a feature rich site for content editors and website visitors alike. This kept costs down, but we never compromised on quality and provided our own custom development of areas of the site where required. Umbraco also provided a centralised CMS platform for all its websites and languages.

• Technology specialists - with Microsoft certified developers and Umbraco accredited developers we could draw upon our extensive knowledge of the technologies to deliver a highly polished solution. With quite a few migration projects under our belts, we could deliver on our content migration promise.

• Unified look and feel across all sites - with our UX expertise and some great designs we could implement a clean and fluid website. We were able to consult with the client to provide clear and logical user journeys.

• Mobile - with the website being accessed from a flood of different devices with varying screen form factors, we created designs which adapt to screen size. In this way we stopped content duplication without impairing the experience of site visitors.
